If it's a dog under 6/8 months..just use dawn as its really the only safe way to go. And you can use diatomaceous earth to sprinkle in your yard and in any carpet and on furniture to kill any fleas not on your dog
If I use Adams I use dawn dish soap after to get the chemicals off them. I usually wash 3 dogs at once, rinse the first rub in the Adams, rinse the second rub in Adams, rinse the third rub in Adams..then rinse Adams off the first and rub in dawn, rinse the second rub in Adams..just to give an idea of how long I leave them on the dogs to get rid of fleas :) never use the hartz or hertz whatever it is what you get cheap at like Walmart or winndixie..its known to burn or even make really sick or even kill animals.
I use dawn dishwashing soup. it works wonders! My dog every time she would come out side would get covered in fleas. we started bathing her in Dawn, barely see anything now.
Be very careful about what you choose and check reviews. Puppies die all the time from the crap in flea shampoos. Maybe try a veterinary office for recommendations.
No. I would recommend you to go get the dog dipped. They're a pest to get rid of. I don't think the dollar store will have anything that'll do great.
