It will probably be a while before she can actually get in the sitting up position by herself. What I did with my daughter was start on my bed and put pillows around her, I would sit her up and give her a toy. If she started falling over I would just let her so she learned to balance and catch herself. Then after a week or so, I took the pillows away and did the same thing. After a week or so of that I would move to a carpeted floor and put pillows around her so her head wouldn't hit the floor for a few minutes until she learned that the floor was harder than the bed and then take the pillows away. By then she would sit up by herself. I still didn't walk away from her for a few weeks until she figured out how to catch herself from falling foreword and hitting her face.

What I do with my daughter is sit behind her but not up close to her and allow her to sit up on her own for as long as she can and when she starts to topple I'm there to catch her. I also use her bumbo seat

thanks. she sits up against myself or using my fingers and pulls herself put but I know there is an easier way to show her how to sit up from laying down
