You should go in. It could be strep throat which is highly contagious

from my experience, strep doesn't make your tonsils swell (had it 9 times in 2 years) but tonsillitis finally made mine swell and they had to take them out.

My doctor told me I can take Tylenol cold and sinus, any product that had Tylenol in it. Also chloraceptic (sp) spray.
