I really wish I could keep my dog off the bed ugh she has been my one an only for so long (she just turned 7) but now I'm married and over 36 weeks pregnant I feel like she stinks up the bed and I'm so nervous about when baby comes. She wouldn't hurt her on purpose, but an accident isn't even acceptable. I tried to put a baby gate up the other night to keep her out and yeah she bawled outside the door and bit at the gate to make it snap like a rubber band. Don't exactly know how my husband snores through that, but of course he did and I was the one up listening to it feeling guilty.

@sarahemccormick, Onyx is American Bulldog and Pitbull. (I don't remember if I mentioned that in the post) I've also had her since she was 8 weeks old. It's funny that you talk about your bed being high off the ground.. When we bought a new bed over a year ago, I could barely get on it. I pretty much had to roll onto it lol and I definitely didn't think Onyx would be able to get up here.. But i guess where there's a will, there's a way. Haha! @alexinwonderland I understand what you're saying too.. When she's outside the door crying and snapping the gate.. Oh my. Breaks. My. Heart. I've got to get a backbone here and lay down the law though.. I want to start teaching her now @sarahemccormick since she's 7.. I don't want her to develop a resentment for our daughter or become envious.

I am currently trying to stop my dog from laying on the bed. But his face when he wants snuggles is just so hard to say no to.

Im going thru the same thing right now with my dog, Raven. Well, kinda. She doesn't get on my bed because my bed is high off the ground, but she is always stinky no matter how many baths I give her a week. Also, my husbabd wants her to learn to stay out of the bedroom now that the baby is almost here. She is a pitbull and we have had her since she was old enough to be released, and she is almost 11. She grew up with my kids since they were babies but he thinks since shes old, she will react to a newborn differently. Idk. I love her like one of my kids and I treat her like family, so when she cries to come sleep on the floor of my room and I have to say no it really bothers me.
