I had a friend whose heart stopped for 3 minutes and her babies heart stopped for a few minutes as well after they gave her an epidural(her 3rd child, but first time using an epidural, she did 100 percent natural with her other two) . and another whose back is permanently messed up from her last epidural.
Oh man that's scary... I'm just reading up on pros and cons of natural and medicated birth. Definitely leaning more and more towards natural birth since the hospital I'm delivering at offers waterbirth @misskaecolletto
i wanted to do nitrous oxide for my delivery. but my hospital doesn't offer it. but it's completely safe. and also a method they used waaay way back in the day that's making an appearance again! you inhale laughing gas when you feel a contraction and it gives off a few minutes of pain relief without the drowsy feeling. I have a friend right now whose being induced And she's doing this method as we speak. it's still considered as a natural birth because you get to administer it to yourself as much or as little as you need, whenever you need it. you should totally read up on it! @amarie98
Omg thanks that sounds interesting, definitely going to do my research on that one. I'm due in march with my first born and I want to do this the "right" way lol @misskaecolletto
I'm due at the end of March. I was all hoping to do that method until I found out my hospital doesn't do it and I was like.. I guess I'll try natural. but I told my ob if he sees too much discomfort to give me my epidural. when I feel pain intend to lash out and my blood pressure rises hella high and we don't wanna risk doing anything bad to the baby. I'm all about trying until I know for sure I can't do something! @amarie98
I had the epidural with my first pregnancy and every since I have had bad pack pain that comes and goes but sometimes it gets so bad I can't get comfortable no matter if I stand sit or lie down. I went without with my second and it wasn't easy but I am so glad I was able to. With my 3rd pregnancy I had to have it because I had an emergency c-section and the back pains are worse but I didn't have a choice. I would say go natural as long as you can you won't regret it.

It sometimes doesn't work. And I occasionally get really sore where the needles was placed. You also can't walk for a good amount of time, it's awful.
