my son has a hyphenated last name, mine first.

@babygirlforever If you give the baby his last name, put him of the birth certificate, do a DNA test, or put him on child support; he gets automatic visitation/ rights. I didn't do any of these things, simply because of that reason alone.

Thank you ladies, just doesn't help with my parents constantly on my butt about not giving him his last name and how it's a bad idea. They made a valid point today, if we do get married we can switch our baby's last name. But if I marry someone else later on in life (and the baby has my bf's last name) then my future husband would have to adopt my child and my current bf would have to approve of it. I don't know how all of that works, custody wise. He's very immature and I was thinking about applying for sole custody and only giving him supervised visitation (if we broke up). It's just his words and actions don't add up. He says the sweetest things and says how he wants us forever this and that, yet he won't even come see me. You can look at it like that girl.. but your stealing your joy outta your pregnancy! guys are jerks! period! but enjoy this moment.. its depressing not having that lovely pregnancy story others have I know but you can make one on your own.

@babygirlforever yep, my baby father is in prison & his mother has convinced him that my son isn't his. and since I gave him My last name, they only believe that bullshit even more. personally, I do not regret giving my son my last name, bc in doing so, my baby father now has NO rights to my child, whatsoever. I wouldn't have it any other way!

See the only problem is my boyfriend and his family are all psycho so I'll never hear the end of it. It's really hard for me though because he doesn't evening make an effort to hang out with me and he hasn't contributed to any of the bills or necessities of my pregnancy. He'd rather hang out with his friends and do his own thing. It hurts, everything changed once I found out I was pregnant and I feel so distant now. But I just can't call it quits, the heart wants what it wants :/ @lovemyson_610

yes girl I am!! my sons daddy is in jail for domestics and he calls saying blah blah i won't blah blah you know.. and the original plan was his last name, Cuz we were gonna get tied down but after all that drama I don't wanna get married nor do I know if I should name the baby after him!! uhg

give the baby your last name! I'm married but never changed my last name, and I gave my son my last name.
