My daughter is 3 days old & I breastfeed.. My breast are so sore & engorged I have no clue what to do ? They hurt so bad…

@missmissyy, I would recommend hand messages, pumping, and warm showers.

@mommabear3cubs, I've breastfed five babies and was told the opposite. I wanted more supply for storage. Only down fall I see is if she's supplementing with formula. Never can have too much Milk.

the more u breastfeed ur baby will heal them I breastfeed up to 3 yrs with my first baby and she left me bleeding but as much as it hurt I wouldn't stop and after so long they stopped hurting

If you have a pump use it. Try warm and cold compress. Also take a warm shower and massage your boobs with your hand raised from the outside to the center of your breast. Clogged milk ducts are painful. Hang in there.

Girl I know I've been their before I had my laxation specialist on speed dial for the first couple of months .. And you also should pump just to keep your milk supply up. @missmissyy

It sounds like your milk came in. That's a good thing. Her is my opinion. My doctor told me to not pump for the first two weeks so you don't get a way oversupply. I did that but I honestly wish I would have done it sooner so that I would of had more milk. Next time I will probably only wait a week. You can pump if you have to but only until you feel better. Not totally drain them out then that will cause an over supply

Did you have a laxation specialist in the hospital ? if so I would call they should be able to help and support along the way

@mommabear3cubs interesting. I thought it's a good idea to prevent mastitis as well as to have a full stock of your milk. I'll be doing more research for sure. @jjordan86 my thoughts exactly.

pumping is just fine. Especially for mommies who are having trouble breastfeeding but still want their babies to have breast milk.

they don't recommended it early on when ur milk supply is still trying to be established. can cause over supply. @mamamoonbaby

pumping isn't recommended. hand express 15 minutes before feeds. and also use warm compresses as well.

try warm washcloths on them and massage

they will calm down in a couple weeks
