Anyone else find midwife appointments pointless as you get towards the end? I know they're important to test urine, measure and do BP but I'm in and out in 5 mins now and it's so far away from where I live. They seem very impersonal at this stage, just shove me in and out again as fast as they can. My bp has normalised, urine is clear and baby is in a perfect position so there's no concerns. I have another one for 38 weeks if she hasn't come by then (in MW's words). Mine have also missed out important things like giving me information packs, chasing up blood results and seeing if I have a birth plan. I still haven't got back all the results from my booking bloods. I haven't discussed a birth plan at all with mine so luckily I have done one anyway! I get that they may be overworked sometimes but it is their job to do those things and it's quite important when it comes to pregnancy. Especially someone's first. Kinda makes me concerned for how MW's will be when I give birth.

I'm not keen on the ones we see for appointments it's quite impersonal & like they try to get you in and out. But my health visitor is lovely and when I've been in for monitoring due to reduced movements the midwives at the hospital are really nice. I think the ones we see are just too busy but they still do their job correctly x

I feel the same its been 4 years since my last and I couldn't believe the difference they couldn't do enough for me in my last pregnancy this time like you said it's just in & out ...NHS is really struggling bout time we sorted our own country out before coming to the aid of every other!! Sorry for rant x

I'm meeting my health visitor next week so hopefully I'll be advised on a lot more stuff. I can't even have a hospital tour of the birth suites because of the cutbacks! No antenatal, birthing or NCT classes in my area either so haven't met any mummies that are due around the same time. It's putting me off having another x

I totally agree this is my forth baby and I can't believe how things have changed over my pregnancies ! I have hardly seen my midwife and felt very little support from her ! In my opinion the more pregnancys I have had the more support I have needed !! But in there eyes ur a pro !!! I was 21 with my first pregnancy and 32 with this one and it has certainly been the hardest . I am 37 weeks today and saw my midwife yesterday I received no labour pack . I said too my partner it's hardly worth going !!! X

I've always found them pointless 😂😂😂 Don't even like going to them but they need to see if bubba is doing well and my blood pressure is fine etc! :) Xx
