@lovelytee, run a really hot shower and sit in the bathroom with the door closed for about 15 minutes. Then use a sucker to pull anything out of their nose. Run a humidifier near their bed while they sleep. Worked for my LO when she got a cold at that age.

@mamma_bear15, it won't dry out the tear ducts.

the Saline drops are different than the mist, Saline is salt water it's what your body is made of, that's what they give you when your dehydrated. it's the only thing you can use this young. my mom is a nurse and that is what the pediatrician said to use

don't use saline drops this young @lovelytee. I asked the same thing and was told that it could dry out his tear ducks and they may not develop at all or you'll have problems with them.

try the nose frida, it works so much better, I was able to get more out, one of my lil guys would just lay there and let me use it on him

@mamma_bear15, is right most doc wanna push medicines cuz there is not money in healthy ppl, my boys pediatrician though is a bit holistic and he recommended the Zarbee's, the Saline Mist and to use Badger Chest Rub (it's all natural have to get it at the local natural foods store) it's like vicks but all natural, I use both that and once in a while the vicks

it's an all natural one and it says on the box you can start giving it to them at 2 weeks. Doctors just don't want to go with the natural stuff they want to give medicines with harmful chemicals is all. plus not a lot of doctors know about it since it is an all natural medicine. it will be fine @lovelytee to give him that. I get it right from Walmart in the pharmacy isle. it's about $6 but it's the best $6 you'll spend to help your baby.

Zarbee's is great just make sure it's the infant one, the children's one has honey in it and that's not good for babies. It's all natural

both my boys were bad and now they're fine, I still use the Mist quite often. do you use a suction bulb or a nose frida?

try Little Remedies Saline Mist, it's in a can, it's not medicine it's pure saline, you can use it as many times a day as you want, it will help moisten up his nose. and only suction when you see something cuz doing it can irritate his lil nose more. also try a warm Mist Humidifier. You can also use baby vicks on his lil chest and feet

are you sure the doctor said it was nothing I could give him. they said I couldn't give him anything until two months@mamma_bear15 I'm going to look into it.

you can give him meds. I've been giving my son Zarbees baby for cough and mucus since he's been 2 weeks old and he's now 3 months. it's an all natural medicine and it works great for when he's all congestive and has a hard time breathing.
