I'm a first time mom and I'm going to breast feed, can anyone tell me what I'm going to expect? Does it hurt or feel uncomfortable? Is there a certain way she needs to lay? Will I be able to handle it?
When you deliver, tell the nurses that you want to breast feed and they will help you with positioning and getting a proper latch! I put nipple cream on from the very first time and did it in between feedings for about a week and it helped so much! For some moms it's easy and others it's hard, I'm 2 months in and the first couple of weeks were rough for me cause my baby likes to eat allll the time, and I mean all the time lol. Every mother and baby is different but I can promise you that it is so worth it and it's an experience like no other!
I had soreness for the first 2 weeks or so... after my milk came in, I was just happy to have engorgement relieved lol! as for the question "can I handle it?" just remember, women have been breastfeeding for centuries, you can do anything! I'm 4 months in, and it's been getting easier since she was 6weeks... it just takes a little while for you and baby to figure things out, you're both new to it all (:
Thank you so much! First time mommy and I would love for breast feeding to be successful for my little girl. I heard it's a lot better for them! @ilovebabyjosiah
I've been successfully breastfeeding for 5 weeks and at first it hurts , nipples real sore , I almost cried . I got nipple cream and it works wonders but the pain went away . And I only need nipple cream every once in a while now .
