I tried to breastfeed with my first child 3 yrs ago. but was not having any success, the nurse said I have inverted or flat nipple and had me try a sheild, but i just felt weird with the sheild and was getting impatient and didn't like all the nurses coming in to help me get my baby to latch, so I gave up and asked for a bottle. is it possible to breastfeed with inverted or flat nipples. I really want to be successful this time around. any tips or advice would be apreciated.

I heard you can pump or stimulate your nipples first so they can pop out

I just read about that. I guess I can try that. they do stand out if stimulated but they just don't stand out all the time.

Yes it is totally possible!!! Shields suck. But you could use those. They also make these shields that draw/pull your nipple out (haven't used it though). You can also pump a few minutes before feeding as ilovebabyjosiah said
