My son was born at 37+6, and he's one of the most advanced kids his doctor has seen at his age. there's nothing wrong with delivering as early as 37 weeks, that's why doctors let you go into labor that early.
Every woman and every baby is different. If you are trying to self induce before you are full term it seems selfish to me. My first was 42+4. I don't get why so many are rushing such an important time for development. Obviously, if there are medical reasons then you should do what is safe and recommended by your doctor.

@bri31212, some people are self inducing starting at 35 weeks... that's not okay.

My opinion let baby come on their own but if doctors says it's okay and baby is fine then that's their choice, 37 weeks and on is fine.
