anybody here have gestational diabetes?? I am 34 weeks and was told I have it and all the possible things that can go wrong and I'm kind of scared
@glburhoe, My Sister in law had it both her pregnancies. Her first was definitely somewhat of a blessing, she went early at 31 weeks and they said he was probably going to be 2 lbs and have to stay in the hospital. They were terrified but because gestational puts weight on the baby, he was almost 5 lbs and only stayed a week at the hospital. then with her second son, she had it again and went full term. she didn't do anything or any special diet. in the beginning she watched her sugars but middle and end she didn't care and ate whatever she wanted and she had her son who was 9 lbs. Doctors can sometimes make you freak out. Try doing research online a little and reading about it, because that may help calm you down. :)
it terrifies me. and now I'm worried about every little thing that goes wrong.
I am diabetic, not just gestational. Its scary when they just spout off all the possibilities for sure. I cried, and apparently made my OB feel bad lol
I completely failed the one hour and 3 hour tests but my a1c is only 5.9 which is only borderline diabetic
I'm pretty sure I have it but I'm refusing to take the 3 hour test again bc it made me so sick. What was your score?
yeah they are telling me to go on a strict diet and not really have any sugar. when my sugars haven't been that bad. my sugar never gets over 170.
I had it. I didn't follow any of the doctors advice. My son probably would have been underweight if I had followed it. I didn't over do it on the sweets though, I ate what I wanted just not alot.
thank you @lyricsmommy15
