How fast does pitocin start?

@id5182621, it takes a little bit to build up. they will keep coming in and bumping up the dose of pitocin and each time they will get stronger and more frequent.

Is it painful when first start...? @momofmany

my contractions have always started within about 30 minutes of getting pitocin but I have heard it can take several hours for some women.
