My birth story, because why not, right?

I was due November 5, 2015 but due to being high risk because my sons kidneys were dilated and he has a micro-calcification in his heart, my high risk Doctor wanted me induced sometime during weeks 38 & 39. We scheduled my induction for Friday October 30, but our sweet baby boy decided that he'd rather be here a little earlier than we planned lol. On Wednesday, October 28, I was asleep in bed and woke up exactly at 7AM to the feeling of liquid trickling out of me. So I sat there for a second thinking "man, I can't believe I peed in my sleep", then more came out. And then more. So I rushed to the bathroom, sat down on the toilet and just listened to all the liquid continuously coming out. I called my mom to see if this was my water breaking and she said that it sounded like it and to call my doctor. My OB's office told me to go ahead and go in, so I called my husband who is a UPS driver and luckily he hadn't left to start his route yet and was able to come home and drive me to the hospital. When we got to the hospital around 8:30AM they admitted me immediately to labor and delivery, and checked me. I was 3cm, which I had been for about a week and about 50% effaced, and having no contractions. They monitored me for a little while to see if contractions would start on their own. Unfortunately I didn't make any progress or even have any contractions, so they started me on pitocin around noon. Within 30 minutes I was cramping pretty badly and starting to get super nervous. As nurses came in and out of the room prepping it for delivery, my husband was on the phone with my monster-in-law, I mean mother-in-law, promising her that the baby wasn't here yet and that no, he's not lying, so I was a tad distracted. By 2:00 I was in some serious pain and asked for something in my IV rather than an epidural. The nurse said she wanted to check me first to be sure that I wasn't far enough that I was running out of time for an epidural, and I was 5cm so they called for the epidural. It only took 30 minutes for the anesthesiologist to come do it, but those were the longest 30 minutes of my life and I thought I was going to break the railing off the bed. I got my epidural and the pain eased up pretty quick after that. Shortly after, my nurses (one of them being one of my best friends from my childhood which was such a huge help) noticed that baby boy's heart rate was dropping after every contraction and they didn't like it, so they kept putting me in crazy positions to see if it would stop. Finally they had me as much on my belly as possible with one leg hiked up towards my chest and it got better but didn't stop. Soon after my contractions worsened and became unbearable again just as my mother in law walks in😑 they called the anesthesiologist again to give me a bolster on my epidural and checked me, and I was at a 10! Next thing I know, nurses are running all around the room getting stuff ready as one of the tells me it's time to push, just gotta wait on the Doctor! I pushed for about an hour and next thing I know, my handsome man was on my chest as I bawled like a baby. He was born at 5:44pm weighing 7lbs 2.9oz and 19 1/4 in long. 😍😍 that was the best day of my life 😊
