just wondering: how does breastmilk work when you're in the middle of breastfeeding and get pregnant? i know u cant continue to breastfeed due to miscarriage or premature birth.does the whole process start over again,colostrum then milk?is it easier the next time?..also did u save milk from previous to feed your next born until your milk came in?

You can still breastfeed while pregnant. I've seen many moms do it.

In a typically pregnancy you can breastfeed the entire time. If you have certain factors that make you a risk for pre term labor the doctor may tell you to wean.

you CAN absolutely breastfeed while pregnant. Unless the mother is high risk then she may have to wean and can always start nursing that child after her other baby is born :-) if there are no problems you can nurse the entire pregnancy, some nurslings will wean though because some don't like the taste of the colostrum but others enjoy it

because that's what our bodies were made to do. When I tandem nursed my 2 yr old and 5 yr old, my body knew when to make milk for my new baby and knew when my oldest was sick, your child's saliva acts like it "activates" your nipple, to send "signals" to your breast to make milk filled of what your baby needs. Just like with any pregnancy you make colostrum, doesn't matter if your oldest continues to nurse, your breast still know to make milk for the new baby :-)
