I have a question for anyone that has had a scheduled c section. how long roughly did it take for family members to come back and see you and baby? I am having one tomorrow at 930am but don't know when to tell family to be there by

@smt42016, oh wow! I hope that doesn't happen with us! I think I will just be safe and stick to 1030-11 unless they want to be there earlier. my gma wants to be there at 8am haha

@twin_mommy, to be fair, no one really knew what was going on haha. She was scheduled for 6:15pm, Charlotte was officially born at 6:37pm, they finished everything up, and her doctor came to talk to us (myself, my mother, and my grandmother) told us everything went great and that she'd be back in a few minutes. Then we saw her get wheeled past us in her bed. The doctor came back in and asked where she was because she was coming down the hall last he saw. We told him we didn't know where they took her. He said he would go find her, then about 30 minutes later he told us that they moved her to a different room and to go the other room. We tried to go in the room as directed and got screamed at my a nurse who told us it would be at least another hour or two. We ended up not meeting the baby until around 9:30 pm. The only one who was allowed in the room was the father and medical staff. Initially the nurse told us we would be able to see them both within an hour after they took her to the OR. So, I came to the conclusion that no one knew what the hell was going on haha!

Oh, and that was planned and with no complications! I guess it depends on the hospital!

For my sister, it was about 2-3 hours until we were allowed to see her and baby

@twin_mommy well if you're going to be put out like I was, it'll prob be at least an hour and a half. My son was born at 9 pm and I was in the recovery room by 10, but wasn't in our room until 11:30. The c section itself takes about an hour.

as far as I know at the hospital I am going to I only have to be completely out if they run into any issues. I am scheduled at 930 so I think I will tell people about 1030-11 to be there I just don't want people to be in the waiting room for hours and hours.

@twin_mommy you're welcome. I had to be put to sleep for my c section, so my recovery time was a little longer than most. If you're just having an epidural it should be quicker than that.
