okay, this might be a silly question but its been weighing on my mind... when your water breaks do you know it or is…

with my first child my water broke and I knew it did and it took a little while for contractions to start. then with my second child my contractions started first and the doctor had to break my water. everone and ever pregnancy is different.

if you "pee" yourself more than I'd say....maybe 6 times with in a 5 min period then it's not pee

With my first my water was just leaking, but I immediately knew because I went to the restroom and the. went and laid down and as soon as I layer down I had to "pee" again. I was back and forth couldn't stay out of the bathroom cause I felt like I had to keep using the restroom and then I just knew it wasn't pee my water was leaking

And as soon as ur water breaks the contractions start

@jasminemaye, I'm with you! I like to think I have a high pain tolerance so I'm afraid that I'll think I'm not in labor and really be in labor and barely make it. lol. it's just like, idk what to expect and everyone says it's difference to each person. I had a Co worker who's broke in the bathroom and she knew even then, so I mean it's gotta be somewhat obvious. but you can go through a lot of labor and your doctor could have to break it at that point. I know that's super common.

sometimes your water won't break until you're in the hospital and sometimes it's like a leak, it doesn't necessarily happen like it does in the movies. from what I have heard you usually know.

some discharge smells kinda sweet though lol @jheyer1109 and @jamyra1025 you don't need discharge be thankful you don't have it!

When my friends water broke, she wasn't sure so the nurse said to lay with her legs up in the air for 15mins and stand up and if u feel a gush, or a lot it's ur water. And they said to smell ur undies bc it's sweet smell.

the discharge has to be the nastiest part of pregnancy, and even worse for me it never stopped in the 3 years between having my first kid and getting pregnant with my next. it was miserable :(

I wear panty liners everyday haha @crunchymomma I discharge sooo much its nasty!

I'm an hour away from my hospital too, so I know how you feel lol. they broke my water with my daughter.

just make sure you always wear pantie liners, and if you find you're changing them out more often than normal, or they seem to wet, more like water and less like the mucousy discharge call your doctor.

in the end if you're worried your water has broken you can always go to the doctor and they will probably do an ultrasound to measure your water

or that's what I've heard. I've never been through it before so I'm not speaking from experience over here lol.

Mine busted in the shower so I Ddnt know until I got out the shower and sat on my bed and it came out like a water balloon

Mine I actually felt a pop it's a really weird feeling

it can happen and you not even realize it.

like it can just start leaking and you think it's discharge or you just peeing on the potty, as opposed to the dramatic breaking and gushing all over the floor lol.

Oh nooo u will know lol it's a lot like a lot of water and it dnt stop coming out .. Lol I was disgusted when mine broke with Taylor it was warm but it Ddnt stink I expected it to drink
