Yeah that's what I thought to.. I am going to conturing breastfeed but my daughter will be 4 months on the 18th and I wanna start giving her a little extra before bed to help her sleep for longer @quansmommyy
Technically no, they don't need anything else nutritionally for the first year of life, but it's good to help them get used to the idea of eating, and learn how to chew and swallow and grab food themselves....usually the best time to start is around 6 months, but you can start as early as 4 months as long as you keep it simply and don't push it if they don't seem ready! If they can't seem to keep it in their mouth then they need more time. It's best to start with the simplest things possible, I started letting my 4.5 month old taste baby oatmeal (organic) mixed with my breast milk. It's not a daily thing but she seems to really like it and her tongue reflex is gone enough that she can swallow it without trouble. But I don't push it, if she doesn't want more than a bite or two then she doesn't need it, breast milk is still all she needs 😊 it's also nice to just let them try a little bite of whatever you're eating, although for that I would wait the full six months in case of allergies 😜
They give me a paper from my pediatrician that tells me what my baby should be eating at the different months. I have never heard to wait a whole year and just give breast milk. After a while that won't fill her up . They say wait to 6 months but when you feel like yo baby is showing the cues then you can start solids people start their babies at different times @audreysmama
My baby is 3 months and I just started feeding him baby food. He loves it and he seems to be handling it well. He hasn't got an upset stomach or thrown up or anything. I give him baby food for breakfast and dinner. And bottles in between. But I have a big boy. He's 16 lbs lol!
