OK mommies out there, I have a question... I just had my first little boy 6 months ago, well... both me and his father is in the National guard in the same unit... So his parents babysits while we are at drill. Let me tell you, AJ(my son) only sees his grandparents once a month other than that he's either with mommy or daddy. So they tell me that hes become to "dependent on me and says I need to tone it down a bit. here's my question, is it such thing for a baby to be "too dependent" on their mom/dad and how do you change that??? Plz ladies I really need help with this one??
A lot of older people believe tending to your baby every time they cry is spoiling them and turns them into cry babies. Let me tell you- that's a load of crap. You just keep loving that baby as you see fit.
The baby should be dependent on you. People will say you are "spoiling" baby by picking them up when they cry. Truth is you can't spoil anyone or anything with love. You can spoil with stuff or lack of disapline... but babies pretty much depend on the consistent adults in their lives. Most likely the grandparents need to be around more so baby feels more comfortable with them.
thanks I really needed that. I feel the same. Children based their other relationships off how the parents treated them @kibella22
Don't let their comment make u feel inadequate. the way I see it ur child is supposed to feel like he/she can depend on you. You are the parent... Their world. Ur baby is only 9 months old and during this time his little brain is very impressionable so it's important for him to feel he can rely on you in order to build healthy relationships later on in his life... Everything starts with the relationship he has with you the parents. That is very wrong for them to say that to u.
Thank you! I felt bad but now I kinda don't lol @dcsmommy257
That's what I thought, but they swear they know what's best for my child @dcsmommy257
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...

Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
