If you really plan on being successful with breastfeeding it is imperative to stick with strictly breastfeeding for at least the first few months. If you switch between breastmilk and formula your body will not produce enough milk. It's a supply and demand system. If anything pump and give breastmilk but do not skip breastmilk feeding bc once your supply goes it's very hard to get it back. I even recommend waiting about 4-6 weeks before giving a bottle of even breastmilk so the baby is not confused. I've nursed 2 babies and currently still nursing my 17 month old and it is the greatest bond. I wouldn't trade it for the world.
wow didnt know some off the stuff you just told me thanks. it may help my choice. if i do formula like around what stage of age should i start. i defently want to breastfeed my baby boy and was planning to do it up to six month and then start slowly to give baby food of crouse i would also give the bottel like pumb and give to to him and a bottel. but then again wat will i do with the formula.. do u think wat i was thinking sound good?? @anim
The only thing I would say about automatically starting with formula as well is as a very new-newborn they may get nipple confusion and not latch. Also you will need to get your supply up if you want to breast feed so you will need to feed him/her off the boob as much as possible.! At least during the first few weeks. And waiting all day to breastfeed, your beasts will be very full and uncomfortable which may result in block ducts. I say that if you wanted to do both at least try to pump once or twice during the day! 🙂 to keep your supply going and not be uncomfortable.
Thanks :) @brebaby914
