I feel so torn between whether to get the epidural or not..
@toooldforthis81, I think I want an epidural for this first one, I'm scared s$&;less and have already had a rough pregnancy. If I can make labor easier I think I'll go for it.
I want to use as little medication as possible this time but if I have to get pitocin then I will most likely get an epidural too
@toooldforthis81, I see a good thing to keep in mind the same thing happened to my sister I don't think they have her anything though.
@huntleymama, pitocin is a drug they can give you to jump start or speed up your labor... my water broke first and I wasn't progressing as quickly as the dr wanted so they gave me pitocin
Just tell your doctor you won't know until it's time. It's not like the anesthesiologist will be just sitting around waiting anyway Lol. When you go into labor you will know exactly what you want to do when you need to do it. Trust yourself and trust your body. Everyone else will be alright.
I wanted to do it natural the first time and ended up with pitocin and then an epidural.... there is no shame in it... I am going to try for natural again this time but am not going to be hard on myself if I can't.... labor sucks and it hurts
My dr asked me if I had decided yet and I'm not sure. I get 50/50 responses for yes and no. I have some back injuries and the bigger baby girl gets the more it hurts! Ftm so I can't even imagine how labor will be.
I feel the same! I really don't want to get it at all but if I can't breath through my contractions I won't have a choice. but I will be making that decision on the day my baby is ready to arrive.
@huntleymama, it is your birth and should be what you want it to be. don't let anyone tell you how it should be, as long as you and baby are healthy
