no one on my husband's side likes the name we picked for our daughter, Genevieve.they say they've never heard of it....it's French but it isn't uncommon. they're all like "eaw, that's ugly and weird" I just laugh it off because they're backwoods people so yea. they need to get some culture in their lives lol.

I honestly wish I kept my baby name to myself, cause people talked shit about it. like how are you going to talk shit about a babys name? now of course I dont care what thoes people think, but now the babies name has been changed. I still like the new name though. :)

My fiances mom was a total bitch when we told her what we would name our baby if baby is a girl, she told me she wouldn't call our baby by her name if we named her that, she'd come up with her own name for her. I told her she'd call my child what I named em or she wouldn't call em nothin bc she wouldn't be around our baby. Lucky for me this woman lives far away!

Thank you for that suggestion! I guess that's what we will have to do! I'm in love with Carter or Karter as the first name. And Bryan Marie as the middle name. Bryan was my dads name and he passed away when I was a baby so I've always wanted to incorporate him and my boyfriend came up with Bryan Marie (using Marie to make Bryan more feminized) so I and him want to name our baby Carter/Karter Bryan Marie but everyone downgrades it I guess I can say oh no haven't put more thought in the name yet and we can fully decide on that! Keep the name to your self. I was doing the same thing and everyone would tell me oh no what about.. ehhhh when I picked a name I told them this is going to be his name. After all thats whst his father and I decided so its our decision. nobody else's.. they can kick rocks. I/we picked Elijah Malachi.

That's a cute name! I'm having a girl as well, and I really love the name carter. Maybe with a K to make it more "girly" but everyone makes me feel so crappy about it

It's just hard sometimes I guess. I know some names that I like are different and it's understandable they'd be taken aback by it but they should never down grade the name in any way. I guess that's a good idea @babybermea thank you!

I stuck with what I wanted. After all, I am the one who will be saying the baby's name all day long, NOBODY else! The father included had no say in my son's name!

We have been keeping our baby name a secret I refuse to tell anyone bc I could care less about there opinions lol if they ask I just say omg I have no idea and let them make suggestions lol
