Yeah just clean it very well. When my daughter was a newborn. I was scared to clean in there but my aunt taught me just to open her lips a little and wipe very gently. Water usually works fine but if she's in the tub or you use soap. Just rinse very well.
@dnhmommy3 my baby girl only weighed 6 pounds at birth all I use are wipes. I just spread each fold apart and then spread her lady part so I can clean everything out of it (diaper cream) I've never had a problem, it won't hurt them to spread the folds or creases if you don't clean them very well they can get a yeast infection or UTI. You wouldn't want old shit left on you, would you?

wipe her at every diaper change every fold bc if they stay wet she can break down

I use a wet q tip and clean inside the lips, then pass the wet wash cloth over the entire inside.
