My baby's umbilical cord is about to fall off and there's a bit of blood. Is that normal?

how old? I think my little was about 11 days or so when his fell off. I can't remember if there was blood.

@isaiahjamesmommy, I can't remember neither if my seven year old did. So many years ago lol & she's 9 days old

I think anywhere between 1-2 weeks is fine. just don't assist it in falling off.

@isaiahjamesmommy, yes I know, I put a one piece shirt and I just wiped the blood around but I'm not touching it at all. It's hanging by a thread, I'm scared to even move her around and accidentally pull it. but I'm being very careful.

that's all you can do mama. when in doubt call pediatrician to ease your mind :) I'm sure it's fine as long as there's no odd discharge or redness.

@bets, yes ma'am it can bleed u can just put alcohol on a qtip and clean it and it will soon fall off
