is under the neck temp accurate??

@elenasmommy, @ya0515 you're absolutely correct. Rectally measures the core and most accurate temp. Once lube is used before insertion. Have a fab day ladies

@supermom1104, the most accurate core temp is rectally but you have to use lube when inserting the thermometerAxillary (under armpits) you always have to add an extra degree for accuracy. Never heard of under the neck as being a place to check temp. In infants usually you can also use the tympanic (ear) to check temp also. It's either the mouth, underarm, ear, rectally and groin.

with a baby that young anal temp us the most accurate. And continues to be until about 3 years old. But by then I'm pretty sure u won't be using it that way

she just had her shots and idk if maybe im paranoid but she seems super figity and i feel like somethings bothering her so i gave her a little more infant tylenol..its been 10 hours since i had given her any @elenasmommy

i guess i could try that..i did it under her armpit and it was 97.7 and then i did it under her neck and it was 99.5 @elenasmommy

I called my nurse hotline last week cause I thought baby had a temp and she made me check it from her butt she said it's the only true accurate way
