Hey Mommies ✌🐝! How far along were you when you decided to start purchasing items for the baby's nursery?
Nope, we waited. This one I am up in the air on finding out or not. I think I'm going to wait again. I used it as motivation I guess during labor. Not that just the baby in itself was motivation enough!!! And once I had him people that brought me gifts to my shower than turned around and bought me clothes and brought it to the hospital. My son being almost 10lbs was in 3-6 clothes right away. Had people bought me new born stuff, it never would have fit and would have been a waste or a lot of work to return
@katrina12143, i agree! the father of my child doesn't want it to be a surprise... he just has to know! 😒
@nuggetsmommy, waiting was the hardest part for me. I'd see all these cute things and couldn't buy them. Also I knew that my dad and MIL had bought a ton of stuff for the nursery (like the bed set and etc.) already and it was hard not being able to put it all up bc it was in wrapped boxes at their house.
@jheyer1109 ooohhh now that is smart! you didn't find out the gender until delivery?
I didn't know the sex of my son, so it was easier for people to not buy me clothes or be tempted to buy me clothes.
@katrina12143 what made it hard? did you receive most of what you needed?
@jheyer1109 oh man! i fear relying on baby shower gifts... it is usually clothes that i often notice that ppl give as gifts.
we waited till after the baby shower to buy anything. seriously hardest thing ever. thankfully I had my shower when I was 7 months bc of the holidays.
@happymommyof2 ohhh ok! this is my first... i just don't wanna wait until the last minute and feel rushed or frustrated.
I'd wait until after the baby shower!! Friends and family will love to shower you with gifts!!! I avoided registering for clothes bc than that's all you get and they grow out of them so fast!
yes i had things left from my 1st daughter that i didnt use.. b
I'm on these fb groups in my area that sell things. when er I saw something for the nursery, I'd grab it. started as early as 12 weeks lol
@happymommyof2 how come so late? have you purchased any clothing or bottles?
I started when I was 4 almost 5 months and I barely still have anything but a few pair of clothes. I can't really go shopping as I want (not buying a crib yet or that much play stuff) because I'll be moving soon (husband is in military) but Ima start really buying next month (8months) sense I'm not having a baby shower.
Thank You Soooo Much! My mom wants me to wait until may to start buying things but I'm due in July. @mrsdiaz2014
I started buying items for my baby when I was about 10-12wks, just little things, pacifiers, burp cloths, bottles. Then when I knew what I was having (17wks) I started buying everything at least 1-2 big items or 5-6 outfits of different sizes every month. I wanted to make sure I had everything I could possibly need before he got here. I was super prepared for my son, I didn't actually NEED to buy anything until he was about 6-7 months old, and that was just diapers and wipes and formula because I had finally ran out. when hit 6 months I started getting bigger sizes and sippy cups and things like that, right now my son has clothes until he hits 3t.
What would you do with $25,000
If you received an extra $25,000. What would you do with it? ?
