Mommies to be or mommies who have had their babies. Should I get an epidural? I'm due next month & saw a awful video on it & it kinda has me freaked out a bit.. Need options please
I didn't feel anything when they were putting in my epidural. I had a good experience although I think I did it too early because it wore off when I started to push 😢
It's not awful, I mean it hurts yes not gonna lie. But there's nothing pleasant about childbirth in general. It feels like a pinch/sting with pressure then that's it. I tell everyone the IV in my hand hurt worse than the epidural, and it really did. It hurt a little more for me, because I had a contraction during, but it also kind of helped because I was more focused on the contraction than the epidural. But it isn't a huge terrifying deal. I never watched any videos or anything like that because I knew it'd just scare me!
@ashley251, it depends on you. everyone is different, my sister had wonderful labors with the epidural. I went natural with both mine because the attempt of them trying to put the epidural in when I have scoliosis was far more painful then labor. Natural was a beautiful thing for me, but everyone is different...
it's honestly your choice, and how well you think you can handle labor/pain or if you'd want it. I knew going in I wanted the epidural 100% I don't regret getting it and will be getting it again with this baby. It's completely all your preference though.
