Why do people have to be induced? Do they have to break your water or does it break on its own?

depends on the person. i chose to be induced at my due date cuz didnt want to be pregnant on thanksgiving. and my water broke on its own.

I know I have to give birth to her and she can't be all safe and secure inside me. I am just scared and I don't take super good care of myself in general and so how will I be good at taking care of a little baby? Yea he was only a few ounces shy of being 11lbs it was a lot of work to get him out I had the epidural and had to have get cut and use vacuum cups to get him out because of his size.

I would recommend the epidural. It didn't wear off for me. You have to have this baby so you have to accept the needles thing unless you do a home birth. Having a baby isn't all that fun but when you get that baby out it'll be worth it.

@mamaofangelbaby0610, I'm terrified to even give birth to a 6-8 pound baby because I was only 1 pound 13 oz!! I can't imagine an 11 pound baby. :(

Its just nerve wrecking and I'm really scare to give birth. And yeah.. I don't know whether I should get the epidural because I've heard that by the time the baby is ready to come its worn off and I don't even like getting stuck with needles and I don't really do good with pain and I'm just scared. @mercy475 @mrs.reitzel @kimberlyyyy

Yea I was nervous too the other reason I had to be induced was because my son was measuring 6 weeks ahead and when he was born he weighed almost 11lbs.

I had my water broken when I was induced with my first. It was so weird! Lol.

I've been induced a day before my due date with both my girls.. My water doesn't break on its own. And my first I had hp.

I'm being induced dye to medical reasons, I.e. high bp, pre eclampsia all that fun stuff but usually they use pitocin and they can break your water to help things along or it can break on its own

There are a lot of reasons why people are induced, medical reasons for mom, medical reasons for baby, big baby, little baby, over due moms. And they break your water.

Not everyone has to be and a lot of people that are would probably go into labor on their own at a later date. There are some for medical reasons they need to be induced earlier then their due date. Complications or other things. Some doctors just schedule you for it around your due date if you don't seem to be progressing. They can break your water it depends on the situation
