So, controversial topic. A Christian preschool here denied a child's entry to their school because he lives with his two fathers - which are obviously gay. The child was told he was not going to be accepted to the school because his parents are gay. I understand and respect the church's decision being that I'm also a Christian, however; I don't think they handled it properly. They had no right to tell a little preschooler he can't attend just because his parents are gay. That is hurtful, hateful, and mean. I totally understand why his parents are upset. I also think the church is giving a bad message, and in a way they are promoting hate because of not accepting this child, regardless of his parents' relationship or life choices. Thoughts?

Ohhh man. I would be so furious. How the hell do they think telling a child that would benefit them in anyway. And I don't see anything wrong with children having gay or lesbian parents. The child shouldn't be treated differently or denied education because of it 😡😤

I'm not religious whatsoever, and while yes that's their opinion/belief on the situation, I don't think it's necessarily fair to deny a child the right to their school, simply because of his fathers choices, and I mean if that's the case they feel they needed to do that, it shouldn't have been told to the child he got denied because of his fathers. That'll just make them think it's their fault. Obviously they have some sort of Christian view, or else they wouldn't be trying to have their child attend a Christian school.

they told that to a child? I totally understand the church on the whole same parent situation but the child isn't his patents, he's not the one with the same sex partner, so that's messed up to refuse the child of education at their school

It just doesn't seem very Christian to me. I live in Utah so the Mormon church is huge here, as well as their influence. They no longer babtize children with same-sex parents at the age of 8. Instead, they want to wait until the child is old enough to decide if they want to accept their parents and their marriage, in turn, turning their back on God and the church. OR, if they want to be babtized and denounce their parents marriage publicly stating that they do not believe that their marriage exists in the eyes of God. The Mormon church decided this all after same-sex marriage was realized as legal in the state. It's a crock of crap. What kind of nonsense Is this promoting? The church is asking people to choose God over their Families. It's unacceptable and quite frankly, insane. They twist the rules to suit their agenda. I can't speak on behalf of God, nor do I believe in one, but I can say this: no God would turn his back on any of us for making choices based on love nor would he punish our children for them. And if he did, then he would be no God that I would care to follow. They are wrong for turning a child away.

@sarahemccormick, they should have went a different way about the baby it's not his fault but God does not expect gay marriage in no shape or form.

Thinking about it if it were in my religion, the school should accept the boy because he is going there to learn about the religion. He shouldn't be turned away for anything, even if his parents are murderers. (Not comparing gays to murderers, just making an example!) I mean, my religion is against homosexuality but they should still accept the boy.

I am also Christian... and I personally believe that that was wrong... in every aspect... I feel that God wants us to accept EVERYBODY.. gay, straight, or otherwise... Love thy neighbor... This is why I dont attend church. too many hypocrites.... makes me so sad for that little boy... when I bet his two fathers are just as loving and supportive and Christian like as any of the other kid's parents that go there... smh...

This situation is very like 50/50. What I mean is I see the schools point of view , it goes against their belief and what they believe BUT I also think that this has to do with parents . Parents of kids that go to that school could've had something to say about it . It's their school . No it isn't right that they denied a child because of his parents but once again it's their school. You may have a very religious and a very influential person who's child attends the school and they could've very well said No . & there is the point that homosexuality goes against Christan belief . If there is a school that doesn't support Homosexuality then they won't support it . It's sad that it's that way but that's the truth . They could say that it's a distraction for the kids or it can confuse the kids . Once again it's their school . BUT I also feel as if it was my child id be upset but once again you know that most religious schools follow the bible or whatever else. My Bestfriend couldn't go to a majority white school because she was black and she always said that she hated that because she wished her parents wouldn't have put in that position to be denied . I'm not blaming the parents but what did you expect ? You are a homosexual couple trying to put your child in a Christian school , some schools may accept it and some may not but homosexuality isn't very well accepted by the Christian community .

as a christian i do not think they handled that thencorrect way at all! 1) its not the child thats sinning, he is too young to know what's going on. 2) though homosexuality is a sin, the bible clearly states that we should not judge that all men would recieve their judgment on judgment day. it is not our place to shun and judge people no matter their sin, that's the lords job. as christians we are supposed to teach love and acceptance and to follow the lords word not try and be him. this is why a lot of people see christians as hypocrites. because we believe and preach about acceptance and love but then shun people because they are different matthew 7:5 says "Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye."
