I have a 7 yr old son, I breastfed him until he was 1 but since we've been talking about breastfeeding this little one when he arrives my son has been filling me up with questions like "can I have some milk too" "why does he get to drink and not me" I'm pretty sure it's normal for him to feel like this but how do I explain and deal with this I've tried to tell him he is old enough to drink big boy milk and the baby needs the milk to grow big like his brother but he seems to ignore my answers.... 😳
@onemoretime, I love this comment. It has been a controversy for years! Apparently they don't know the health benefits that the children get from breast milk and want to say it's offensive and disgusting.
But now that I'm pregnant again if he wants it when the baby comes I'd just pump and give him some
I would just give him some of it...funny thing is that my son is 7, I breastfed him for 26 mos, he still asks every now and again about having some milk lol I always tell him he drank it all lol
@onemoretime, I agree!! It's much healthier plus you know exactly what is in it lol
If you have plenty of milk why not pump some and give it to him in a cup or make Popsicles? I know this is a weird topic for people, but why is it normal to feed our children milk from a cows breast but not our own? It makes no sense at all. It should be completely normal as long as he's not physically breastfeeding. That would be out of line in my opinion. I am pregnant with my 5th and if any of my other kids want to try breast milk; I will pump and give them some.
I'm glad everyone is on board with me giving my son some of my milk because all in all he might not even like it and stop asking for it lol
