This might be a very stupid question, but I'm constantly wondering...
what does it mean to actually push a baby out? I've heard it's like trying to (TMI) take a really huge poop.
I've also heard it's you contracting your abs/ rib area and just holding your breath.
I'm just wondering what it actually means to push when the time comes.
What's your un mean?? Just for fun and curiosity what's your username mean?!?
Any mommas out there believe in old tales about knowing the gender before you go to the doctor? I've heard if the heart beat is in the 140s it's a boy and if it's in the 160s it's a girl? Or really bad morning sickness means your having a girl? Was just wondering from your experiences if you've found any of these are true? We find out the gender in a few weeks but the more I read online the more I'm thinking I'm having a girl if these are true haha

Pushing confusion So obviously I'm a first time mom because I'm asking this. I'm a little confused on how long you push to deliver the baby. Ive heard stories where some say they pushed for hours but then some say they pushed three times and they were out. I'm just confused as if they mean from the cervix all the way out in three pushes or just once they were crowning it took three pushes. I understand every labor is different I'm just kinda confused lol.

poop is the most constant thing I hear! but it just seems odd to me because the baby doesn't come out through there so why try pushing so hard through that hole? @beboogey

It's pretty unexplainable I had 2 babies without epidural and it's so painful u just have to push when it's time it's crazy

The same muscles and that's why a lot of women poop when they push.

you're very brave for doing it without an epidural, I don't know if I can do that! @love53 and that does make sense. @kmunoz I've just heard it so many different ways it makes you wonder.

The doctor even said you use the same muscles to throw up (random I know) lol but I guess someone threw up and the baby came out?

thanks I've had friends who have got nerve damage due to the epidural that's why I decided to not get it but I'm sure you'll know when it's time have your baby when to push and whether to get an epidural or not :) good luck

Wow seriously!? I wouldn't even think that would work, but man whatever helps to get through the pain and have your baby out then I'm all for it lol @kmunoz

Yeah I've heard there are a lot of risks with getting an epidural and then fainting without an epidural because of the pain. I'm sure you'll have a plan and then change it as soon as you get to the hospital lol. and thank you! good luck to you too! @love53
