And no,it might not be a problem ... But before introducing your cats to the baby . Maybe let them get use to him/or her by letting the cats maybe sniff a item of the baby's clothing or a blanket .

don't leave your cats around your baby unattended. they've been known to smother babies. :(

cats don't smother babies...that's an old wives tale. I think your cats will be fine. they'll either be very distant or curious when you bring baby home. nothing to worry about, they'll adapt. I have had cats all my life and the only time you need to worry is when baby gets older and begins to pull tails and ears.

no problem sweetie. I can't believe people still think that cats smother babies lol. you have the same chance of a dog smothering your baby as you do a cat. lol

@maybaby2016 @geminimama that is not an old wives tale .. my aunt has a cat & the bitch tried to lay down on my baby. she's lucky she moved bc I was about to kick the shit out of her! & no, I cannot stand cats & I'm allergic to them, but that had nothing to do with the fact that she was so close to my baby's head!

I think all non cat people are feeling this way... If you have a relationship with them they are likely to have a relationship with your baby I have been reading all about it since I posted this @lovemyson_610

@geminimama I'm very much so a dog person, but I still don't leave my little 6 lb lazy harmless poodle around my son by himself. just my personal opinion, I wouldn't leave any animal around my child by themselves :)

well that is common sense but to say "Don't leave cats around your baby unattended. they've been known to smother babies" makes it sound like your baby is at risk of being smothered just because you have cats. as I said before there's just as much of a risk for your dog to smother your baby as your cat....obviously don't leave your baby alone with the dog or any animal, it could bite or whatever. lol, you just made it sound like she would have to worry about her baby sleeping at night or something because "cats have been known to smother babies" I just thought I'd correct that. just because your mom's cat almost laid on your baby's head doesn't mean that cats are known to smother babies. lol @lovemyson_610
