I made those from scratch on thanksgiving fir the first time ever and they turned out great! just make sure to blend dry ingredients well enough and you should have no problems. good luck!
they could still turn out just fine. I think that's ok , did you cream your butter and sugar together then add vanilla and other "wet" ingredients? I think I added the dry ingredients one after another into the wet ingredients...now that I think about it lol
