I have a two month olde, she was born 8weeks early but you wouldn't even be able to tell. She's close to 7lbs now. How do I start getting her on sleeping schedule? I am going back to work soon . Some days I get very lucky with her sleeping 6hours at one time and the other times it's literally been every hour she is up. She starts off in her crib and then by 2-3am I co-sleep.
any suggestions?
They didn't put her on a schedule? My son was in the NICU for bout a month and they were able to put him on a schedule @amarie8911
@miasmommy914, I'm hoping for a better night tonight. Last night was a terrible night. She didn't wanna sleep and didn't want me to out her in her crib. She had to be close to me. It's tough being a single mommy, that I get frustrated but I just gotta stop and tell myself that In the end it's the best thing that's ever happened to Me.. To sit here and have her to myself and have someone so little eventually call me mommy!
yeah you might be right, you should show her how it is during the day and how it looks like at night so she can maybe get the hang of things. my baby didn't like to be swaddled either she might just not like it. if you lay her down and she's not crying I say you just leave her. or what I also did was rock her to bed in the dark with a night light on and when she was lightly asleep I would put her in her crib
Okay, I'll try the distance. It's soooo difficult. Like tonight she was out so I carefully put her in her crib and she screAms. I let it go for like 5mins then take her out. I was told to swaddle her, so I swaddle her extra extra tight and she wiggles her self out of it. I honestly wish that was the case with my little one. I guess being held to have that extra Secruity when she came home from the nicu. She was only 4 1/2lbs when she came home so it was a Secruity blanket for her with everyone holding her. Totally paying for it now. But work in progress and one step at a time and she'll get it. She naps for 3hours wake for food and bake to sleep. I honestly think she got her day and night mixed up. Like right now it's -11:10pm and she is wide awake..
let her sleep as long as she wants, don't wake her up. either way babies WILL NOT let feeding time pass. my daughter now only takes a nap for about an hour, longer if she's either skipped a nap or just doesn't want to sleep. my baby was never really carried when she got home she was mostly on her swing
Oh that's a good one! Like during the day for naps is no problem but i dont know how long yo let her sleep for a nap. It's definitely gonna be tough but gotta do it. She's spoiled used to being held from when we brought her home from the nicu l
your baby is at the age I started getting my daughter used to that schedule.
she goes to sleep at 8 sharp. then she wakes up at either 6 or 7 I feed her change her diaper, burp her and lay her down. the next time she wakes up is at either 9 or 10, I feed her change her and burp her then we get ready for the day I let her stay up for an hour after she's eaten. Even if she doesn't seem sleepy I lay her down and after a few mins I check up on her and she's already asleep. it will take a few days to get your baby used to it and they don't like it but YOU have to make them get used to it.
How did you work the naps? I'm home all day with her for now. I go back Jan 18th for work and I work 8-4pm and won't get home until about 430-5pm.
I'm a first time mom too. my boyfriend wakes up very early so we go to sleep early . what we did was just getting her to sleep 1 hour after she ate. she eats every 3 hours. when we knew that she had a full tummy and had been changed we just let her cry. only up to a certain point though you don't want to over due it. she is now 6 months old and already knows her bed time. hope this helped you out a little
NAh, her first week or so every three hours to eat the the last weeks it was wakeup on your own to eat. It was always dsrk in the nicu no matter the time of day too @quansmommyy
