can a heart beat 5 wks into pregnancy be heard?? or are some different?

it's to early around that stage

I heard my two previous pregnancies at 6w

At the doctors that is I never tried at home.

I was 5 weeks and 3 days pregnant and heard the heartbeat it was 125

I went in for 2 ultrasound already and they tell me there is no heart beat and it could possibly be what they call a "water pregnancy" where it's only the sack growing like if it were a baby... I was told to wait 2 more wks and go back.. 6 pee test were negative and only one positive blood test but with really faint lines

@btitt09, I've been told that u can hear it at 5 wks but also that sometimes u cant :( idk what to think anymore

Didn't hear mine until nearly 8 weeks. And that was ultrasound. My doctor didn't pick it up with a Doppler my first appointment.

@babyjjsmommy, what's a Doppler?? sorry I'm new at this it's my first pregnancy..

It's okay, it's a fetal heart rate Doppler, just a little handheld instrument that they use like an ultrasound and it allowed them to hear and see the baby's heart rate. They'll do it at every appointment 😊

You can actually buy them as well, I hve one I found for 20$ and it's been great to have throughout my pregnancy.

The Doppler is not going to pick it up at 5 weeks.. An ultrasound may not either.

I saw the heart beat at 7 weeks 5 days but I didn't get to hear it until 12 weeks 5 days

@hayleybug, I guess it's all different ...I'm really considering going back when I'm at 8wks ...

I've heard the heart beat doesn't develope until 7 weeks or something like that so it could be to early
