Any advice about getting an epidural? I'm so nervous about getting it because I have like no meat on my back and my spines always showed really badπŸ™ˆ but I know I'll have to get it cause I'm horrible with pain!😁

Epidural is amazing. My labor was so horrible I was screaming. I just had to stay still for the needle and it was such an easy process and within minutes I felt no pain at all. I loved it

I have a really boney back too and it was simple. the shot to numb it was more uncomfortable than the actual epidural but the anesthesiologist did tell me that he likes boney backs best because it's easier for him

Honestly the IV in my hand hurt worse than the epidural. I have a pretty crappy pain tolerance level, and the only reason why it did hurt to me is because I had a contraction during. It stings/pinches for the moment, but then it's basically over. It hurt, but not enough for me to not get it again because I will be getting it again this time around.

Just remember to remain calm and try no to move during the procedure. It's not as bad as it looks or seems especially when you are in pain. If I were you I'd wait until you are at least 5cm dilated to get it, that way it doesn't slow down you labor.

There's other pain management options too besides the epidural. Talk to your ob and do some research about your options and keep an open mind! <3
