Is it bad for my newborn to sleep with me on my chest at night !???? or will it cause SIDS.

they really don't know but I always hear of stories where babies die in the crib during sids, never in the mommy arms. at least u can hear and feel his every move.

I think its all a matter of personal opinion...But honestly, I have had four babies, this will be my 5th, and I have never slept with them on my chest because Im terrified I will drop them off my bed at night when I move or something. I think I would be a bigger threat than SIDS would. But they say put the baby in their back to sleep to avoid SIDS. Im twrrified of SIDS myself. 😕

I don't think its bad, I think Back to Sleep is for on the bed only, I've never heard of a baby passing of SIDS on mommas chest, spoil him I say he is so cute!

I think its fine for like taking a rest but not overnight, Id be too scared and would feel so bad if something happened.

@monique51893, it's fine! Just don't sleep on the edge of the bed. Sometimes that's the only way I can get my son to sleep. And I'm the only one who's up with him at night. So if that's how he sleeps so i can sleep then so be it. I will just say that once you sleep like that. It's a hard habit to break is all. My LO is a month and a week and I can't get him to sleep in his own bed to save my life! But enjoy those baby snuggles!

You will be fine! I've been cosleeping/bed sharing for 2 yrs! It is safe when done safe!

You'll be fine. I've found as a mother that I sleep in one position and don't move all night. I think it's mother's instinct. If your worried about SIDS I recommend buying a snuza. It's amazing and a piece of mind! Babies typically die from SIDS by going into deep sleep and forgetting to breathe. Studies are showing that more and more.

Been bedsharing for 19 months, never had an issue, I bought a bed rail for my side of the bed so he doesn't roll off. Nothing negative has happened, I just have a spoiled boy who loves snuggling his momma. ❤️
