Are any of you not going to give your baby the last name of father or mother? we kind of just want to make one up...

My mother gave one of my brother both his dads last name and hers and gave him two middle names ☺

I researched it and it appears only LA says you can't...every other state says whatever you want is game as long as there is no prejudice or hate etc. like no Hitler's @lilfree16

my husbands brother has the last name his mom THINKS the father had....I also know you can name a kid JR without the SRs permission @lilfree16

when I first had my daughter me and he father weren't together or on speaking terms and I gave me my last name, I thought it was a good idea at the time but since that was three years ago my new husband(her father) got married and have to change it for medical purposes, since she is also going to be a big sister she will be the only one with a different last name

shoot girl it's your baby! do what you want but it could cause legal issues down the road. just keep a birth certificate handy in your car lolol

just if you ever have to prove your her parents...getting her on your insurance.stuff like that,but like I said with a copy of certificate they can't say anything really

I know people that have combined their last names. For example: Thomas and Johnson became Thomason lol just an example.

Yes they do. Also my friends last name is Angel but her moms last name is Flores and her dads last name is Ramirez. They just liked how it sounded together. Also from CA.

Yes. I did. we were high school sweet hearts and I was still a senior when I found out I was preggers with my daughter, alot of stuff was going on with both of our families and we let it get to us unfortunately. we got back together only after my daughter was five months old and I was living in a different state with my parents. we both moved here to cali and have been inseparable ever since, we finally tied the not this past September.
