I don't think you can even have throat sweets when pregnant. just paracetamol. try paracetamol and hot lemon and honey or lemon and honey tea (same thing juat easier to make haha) pop into a pharmacy. They will tell you what you can and can't take !

@tuftyturtle, im so nervous about taking anything but im really suffering now , midwifes off work , my Early pregnancy unit is shut on weekends the gp is shut im so stress xx

I'm the same. chemist said can only have paracetamol and make you own honey and lemon drink but not alot of honey and to stand in bathroom while hot tap is running as the steam will help your chest xx

Well, like I said, the pharmacist at any chemist will be able to advice you. They study for a long time and are qualified, so they know what they're talking about. I had a terrible cough in pregnancy for over a month and it was making me sick. I was allowed one type of cough medicine. so its best to check with them. I'm sure that's all your midwife or pregnancy unit will suggest.

you can't take lemsips! Get some runny honey as swallow it slowly, it is a natural antiseptic. Take paracetamol for pain and to make sure your temperature is under control. Also get as much rest as you can! lemon and honey drinks will also help you stay hydrated, try andsurefooted drink plenty of water you don't want a water infection on top of this x

full of a cold myself im just on lots of water and paracetamol its my second cold and its what i did last time and i managed just get plenty of rest hun you'll be fine @sammy96 honey helps heaps as well x

@baby-2016, @mummywarwick @babyboots thank you for the advice ladies , i got some lemons to have with some water and pharmacy gave me some white gloopy crap but their is honestly no point there no evidence it actually works! Xx
