So, I have been with my boyfriend for 4 years and have lived with him since I was 16. His mother has a very strong personality and is very very very (almost too much) involved in my boyfriends life. He is her baby boy, and first child. Since I was 16 she was trying to persuade me into having a child.. We waited 4 years, and even at 20 I think it's a little young but I am beyond prepared. Well come to find out when I first moved in she faked a pregnancy (her tubes are tied) for attention... And now is overly opinionated on everything about my child from if I should breast feed or not (I say yes- she says no) who can watch my daughter, how much or how little I work, and she has made it very clear she WILL be in the delivery room.. I told her yes because I didn't want to hurt her feelings but I really just want my boyfriend & my sister. The hospital I am at only allows 2 but I'm terrified to go back on my word now. She drinks a lot and is kind of scary but means well.... Helpppp

Open your mouth and tell her what you want. Don't you let people intimidate you. If she can control you now imagine what she will try to do when your child gets here. Nip it in the bud NOW

All you need to do is tell your nurses when you get to the hospital who you want in there and they will take care of it for you. Don't let her stress you out on the most important day of your life.

Your all right but isn't that rude to go back on your word? I know she means well but she's suffocating me. She's saying she's going to wake up the first week at night and feed Harley which is why she doesn't want me breastfeeding.. But all those little moments are important to me and it's the most important time for bonding, the first two years I'm not gonna want another woman waking up in the middle of the night to tend to my child's needs despite how tired I am. She's had 2 children, and I'm only 20 so she looks at me like some inexperienced little girl who needs to listen to her and when she's drinking the opinions never stop.. I'm to the point of giving up & needing to find my own place so that when I go into labor I will call my sister, and have my boyfriend with me that way she won't know.. But that's also being sneaky. I'm sick of thinking about everyone else before myself
