what is a membrane sweep ??

I only did it cause I was SO pregnant. U ended u o going 41 weeks.

yup but i was willing to do what it took....I ended up getting Induced....she was born at exactly 42wks@amorasmom

It didn't work for me either, I was also 40 weeks when they tried. it didn't hurt me but I was loosing my plug all over again and it was nastttt.

my hubby's cousin on the other hand did. she had went to a doc appointment on a Friday the same as I did and got her membrane swept and but sat afternoon she was at the hospital with a broken water and had her son Sunday morning

unfortunately it didn't work for me....she was stubborn and didn't want to come out lol @amorasmom

@mommakarii, did it work for u and how long after did it take for labor to actually kick in?

I had it done with my daughter.... the doc/midwife tries to separate the amniotic sack from the cervix.... it helps speed up labor....yes sometimes it might hurt but if it works. which means you will have a baby pretty soon

I think they pick at your plug from what I have seen on here most women say they are in pain after it
