Question* when did you mommies start finger foods? My daughter eats solids like a champ and sits on her own but doesn't seem to want to craw yet. She does walk in her walker. I'm scared to try finger foods because I don't want her to choke.
@eskawho, ok yea I'm just that paranoid mom that I don't even like leaving her unattended for a minute. she also tries crabbing food from my plate and grab the spoon when I'm feeding her. But I'll try it tomorrow hopefully she likes it and we have no problems with it.
nope no teeth, she is now just getting her 1st one at 9 months lol. we started with puree foods at 6 months , ones she got used to that we did puffs because they melt, learn to pick them up, and chews. you can do soft fruits and veggies just cut very small that she can swallow. but if she showing chewing motion just start real soft and work up. Gerber makes stage 3 baby food that has soft chunks in it. I was nervous at 1st but she mashed those puffs like no tomorrow lol.
@eskawho, did she have teeth when you started to give them to her? And did you introduce them solids at 6 too? Because we introduce solids at 5 months and she's 7 now about to be 8 in 16 days but lately she's been doing the chewing motion.
@lil_bigmama, @omnomnomnivor @queendavis thank you ladies I will have to go look for them tomorrow.
we start with puffs at 6 months. my daughter doesn't crawl yet but eats all sorts of soft foods. she really started around 7 months because she was doing the chewing motion. now at 9 months she eats most soft foods we do. the Gerber puffs are great.
Puffs melt which is good cuz even if she did choke they would just dissolve. They also make yogurt bites that dissolve. I say you could go ahead and give her some and see how she does. Just watch her closely :)
Hi ladies suggestions needed please, Florence is showing signs of wanting to feed herself but I can't give her the spoon she just makes herself gag by sticking it too far in her mouth, she's going great guns with her food, she's on a mix of homemade purées and organic pouches and 7m jars, she's coping with thicker lumpy bits too. I'm wanting to start her on some finger foods, what's the best first foods for her to hold and try herself? Maybe a bit of banana or some of this fruity crisps (puffy o...
If you could snap your fingers and any food would appear in your hands right now, what would it be?

I hate doing this to her but I really don't want her to suck her fingers. She sucks the middle and index finger. She refuses any pacifier I give her. She already has one tooth at the bottom and I don't want her to be sucking them when the top ones come in. The doctor said it's a phase and it'll pass but I'm afraid she won't and spoil her teeth. Did any of your kids just stopped by themselves or did you have to do this?
My specialists told me that my baby has an extra finger on the left hand and then asked me if I wanted to get that amniocentesis test.
🙄 No ma’am!! I’ll love my child with his or her extra finger or extra ANYTHING before I get that risky ass test.
Tips on getting my almost 10m old to eat actual food instead of baby food ?
She’ll eat some food but is mostly just smushing it in her hands 😩
Send helppppp
just start slow, 1 piece at a time. I'm sure she will make faces at 1st but she is going to love feeding herself. she may not pick up food yet and that's ok. my daughter it took a few times until she understood she could feed herself...now she prefers it lol. good luck. I'm a paranoid mom too...I asked her pediatrician a lot of questions and read so much on feeding lol.
