The epidural takes away pain of contractions, but you still feel pressure. And to me, the pressure did get a little painful, and by the time I started pushing it was a little worn off. So it does help to a point.
its to ease the pain of contractions but when i got mine & hit 10cm they started pulling away the medication because they said they wanted me to feel something when i push instead of being numb

its just used to numb below the waist once you go into labor.they give u medication for pain if u choose to

Yes it helps but you will still feel mild pressure which won't bother you compared to the strong contractions

I had it with 2 c sections! so yes it takes away pain, but you still feel pressure! and that pressure is crazy
