Just wondering if anyone has any advice... my partner and I moved into our flat about a month ago and it's quite a rough area (we didn't really have a choice and didn't realise exactly how bad it was) and its really stressing us both out. It's a studio flat (main room, bathroom, and kitchen) and next door are fucking drug dealers for god sake! I REALLY don't want us living here still when our baby arrives in June but there's absolutely no way we can get the money together to move. I have applied for the housing associations list but haven't heard anything back from them. Also we can't just go into bed and breakfasts through the council because we have two cats who we love very much. Does anyone know what we can do? Thanks.

There isn't much you can I'm afraid. You won't be high priority because you already have a home, they won't bump you up the list because you don't like the area. Housing association places can take years. If you can't afford to save up and get another place for private rent then I think you will have to stay where you are. Could a family member not help in anyway? x

awww hun =( I completely know how you feel. We lived next door to a drug dealer just over a year ago and I bloody hated it! I'm sorry I don't have any advice for you xx

Surely they can't legally leave you with no hot water?? I would be ringing them 24/7 until I annoy them that much that they sort it. That's terrible! xx

There's nothing you can do council tried to put me in a top floor flat with 2 kids 1 being newborn, best thing to do is slowly save up and move into private rent x

@zaralee71, because our boiler works occasionally giving us about 2 inches of hot water in a bath, apparently to them that "works absolutely fine" we had the plumber out loads and just didn't get anywhere so we just gave up :/ we now wash by boiling the kettle or just going to my mum's who lives about 2 miles away (we don't have a car) xx
