Paternity Test Does It Really Cost $200-$500?! I don't think this test is necessary I know he is the father of my child, but he wants the test done. I know for legal purposes it should be done through the hospital and courthouse system, but is it really that expensive? I'm not paying for it because he is the one who wants one done but I'm just mad it costs so much like you'll spend that much to have a test done to your son you KNOW is yours but you he hasn't bought 1 single item for our son.

you can always buy at home tests. spending $200+ is kind of outrageous but paying upwards of $150-$180 is normal since you have to pay the lab fees.

If you are on the state insurance and you don't put his name on the birth certificate the state will pay for it to be done once the baby is born that's what I've been told

Just tell him you'll make a deal and agree to the ridiculous test if he will spend on the baby at least what he spent on the test.
