**Topic: crying it out

First time momma. My 3 month old son has become very needy, I suppose you could say. My fiancé was away for two months for work and my son and I were each other's rocks and comfort... I tried not to let him get too attached to me, but he is so young, and was all I had for awhile. Babies crave affection, that I get. But now that my fiancé is home, he always wants to be held. Dadda is for fun and laughter, momma is for fussy and naps and feeding. It's so funny how he craves each of us for something different.

Our son already sleeps through the night, since 8 weeks... Most nights anyways. It's not the sleeping through the night we have trouble with, it's the getting him to sleep part.

Sometimes he's so exhausted, he falls asleep, but most nights, he wants to be held, rocked, cuddled, then he'll fall asleep, deep sleep and the second we put him down, he's screaming. It's been very very hard. My fiancé and I have been letting him "cry it out" a bit. We've heard how many weeks they are is how many minutes they can cry, so for us- 13 minutes. I hate it. It kills both of us, and eventually we try to sooth him or pick him up. We've tried the bouncer, swing, vibrating pack and play, anything to get him a bit more independent with falling asleep. I think it's definitely a comfort thing, although they say not to- we put a very very thin pillow under his head/back and it seems to help. He wants to be on his belly or side but I'm not comfortable with that yet, while we're sleeping too. He has NO issues sleeping for naps. Wahhh, help!

My fiancé does that actually! And it seems to work sometimes. He rocks him on the pillow so when he puts him down, he doesn't really feel the difference. Thank you, I'll try rocking him the way I lay him down instead of against me! @s_ochoa1215

when you are rocking him to sleep how do you hold him? I have found that by holding my daughter and rocking her to sleep in the same position that she will be in when i lay her down helps eliminate the shock factor and keeps her asleep. you may try that with him..

Yes, he could be completely passed out, move his hands to make sure, doesn't flinch and the second he doesn't feel us holding him anymore he wakes up. We could stand up, move him, walk around, as long as he's in our arms he's fine @s_ochoa1215

take one of your shirts that you've worn and lay it under his crib sheet.. he'll smell you and that might help 😊

Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no, his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me and did something else with an other girl.... and it's 10:51 am now and he hasn't texted me at all. and after he dropped me off I texted him saying what I felt and nothing. I don't know if I'm over reacting or what or what should i do. do i wait until he text me?

SLEEP TRAINING So.. we hired a sleep consultant to try to help our baby soothe himself to sleep and we got a sleep training plan for him. It's basically putting him down in his crib, sound machine on, and letting him cry for 3 minutes before going into the room to comfort him. The plan is to repeat this until he falls asleep by himself (which I believe will take us the whole night, if we are lucky) I tried something similar when he was about 2 months old. I started at 7 pm and gave in at 2 am with an angry, exhausted baby. At that point we were both crying! 😭 Some of you told me he was too young to attempt anything. Here I am, 2 months later, still bedsharing and nursing to sleep. I still wonder what is best for him and if he is still too little to make him go through that stress, even if it's 3 minutes at a time. Anyone who's been through this? I'd appreciate your comments.

Anybody baby won't sleep in their bassinet? Is their a way we can make it More comfortable? I was thinking taking a fuzzy blanket and tucking it under the lil mat that's in there because every time I set him down he wakes up right away.. But if I put him in bouncer he will stay asleep or in our bed he stays asleep but I really wanna stop the bed and start bassinet. Any recommendations?

Marley is 2weeks old, I breastfeed but give a bottle about half 10/11 then a bottle at 11pm n he will sleep till half 2 I'll feed him by breast throughout the night whenever he wants it but it's exhausting as it's almost every hour! When He falls asleep I put him down in his Moses basket and he'll cry n scream il pick him up n he'll want breast he'll fall asleep il put him down and again crying screaming, last night I gave him another bottle at 3 and he fell asleep as soon as I put him down again screaming he wanted breast obviously wasn't hungry just wanting it for comfort. Anyone no what I can do I'm not getting a lot of sleep at all x
