I'm curious (since it seems to be one of the things no one really tells you or talks about lol) about pain and recovery after delivery. I know that it's different for everyone depending on tearing, etc, I'd just like to hear some experiences. I've had terrible back issues for years, and I'm wondering how delivery is going to take a toll on those preexisting issues as well as what else may happen.

Obviously not trying to scare you in any way, but just being honest the recovery was the worst part of childbirth for me. I had a 2cd degree tear, so I had a few stitches and I bled for 4 weeks, but was in pain/sore for 7 weeks after. Obviously by the time 7 weeks hit, I was okay just a little tender, but it did last for that long before I was completely okay. Idk if you are getting or want the epidural since you've had back issues, but it did make my back sore for a while after. Not all the time constant pain, just when I moved or stretched a certain way it was sore. But after that everything was fine for me.

also I know I'm not the only mom on here that has given birth, but if you ever have more personal questions feel free to message me. 😊

I didn't tear my perineum, but my vaginal wall had a small tear. Recovery was the absolute worst for me. I had broken my tailbone while pregnant with him and rebroke it in child birth. For me, it felt like it took a good month and a half to two months before I could walk normally and start feeling like myself <3 totally not trying to scare you just giving you an honest account of what happened to me. I was in labor for 5 hours, had a natural birth.

@their.bomb.ass.mom, No No I know you're not trying to scare me. lol. I asked for it and would rather know possibilities than going into it completely blind. I have not been told if I will be able to have an epidural yet (due to where my back injuries are. still waiting for an answer) but I have heard of women having back pain from that on its own so I am undecided. I may just take you up on asking you questions. lol. My time is dwindling away and I have questions that pop into my head constantly. thank you for the honesty and info

@kmally, Oh wow!! That is so crazy about your tailbone 😱 You're not scaring me :) I would much rather know the possibilities and hear first hand accounts than to know absolutely nothing, lol. So thank you!

labor was fine. I could have babies no problem.. but.. the after part. oh good lord. she tore me and I was cut twice. it took over an hour for her to sew me up and it took about 3 months before my "parts" felt normal. I walked funny for a very long time.
