I have such a huge dilemma. Since it's only my kids and my husband out here the hospital said he will not be able to be in the room when I have our baby. This is our first child together and both of us really want him to be there. He is already working two hours away so there is always a possibility he will miss it anyway but if he can be there we have no friends that can watch the kids and no family... I've considered sending my kids back to Texas with family for a few months but that will affect their schooling too much. My mom is coming when I have the baby but there is no way to determine when that will be... I haven't stopped thinking about this. This is stressing me all the way out

@k.haotic, yes he would have to watch the kids because the hospital doesn't want to be liable. We are willing to pay any of amount of money to someone we can trust but it's about finding that person before the time comes since I have a history of early labor

@jdrose, have you and your husband came up with a plan? I was thinking what if I put my kids in the waiting room on FaceTime with my parents the entire time. I don't think the hospital can say anything... But if they are at school that means he would have to drive two hours to pick them up and then another 35 mins back to the hospital and I could be finished by then

@rhonda.otero, oh they should be fine. Plop them in the waiting room with snacks and Netflix they'll completely forget what's going on lol. Just have your husband come out and spend some time with them every once in a while.

no we still do not have a plan and the FaceTime sounds ok bc your kids are older but it might not be enough for the nurses for me because I have a 3, 5, and 1

@k.haotic, nope I've been on bedrest so when I got a job doc said I couldn't work. I haven't had a chance to meet anyone but my neighbor and we considered her until her husband got out of jail and now it's a complete no go.

@jessica0830, that's what I am going to do... I just called the hospital and asked if he kids could sit by themselves in the waiting room with my parents on FaceTime and they said yes and They appreciate us taking the time to come up with a plan and if they aren't busy they will check on the kids periodically .
