@ryennsmomma, I'm only two weeks postpartum, the tears aren't bad now they are barely noticeable, it is the episiotomy that is horrible! The stitches itch like crazy and hurt from wearing pads for bleeding and they get agitated when I am up doing a lot like when I have errands to run or walk the grocery store
my parenting class described it very well. with them cutting you it may lead to you tearing even more. just like a piece of paper, if there's a tear in it it can easily rip straight in half but with a baby making the tears your body will easily heal itself back up faster. also it will tear in different places and they will be smaller than the cut. a tear is definitely bettee
I had an episiotomy with each of my 3 kids and they healed up completely in 3-4 weeks. Everybody is different so the healing process will have a lot to do with how your body heals. Kinda like stretch marks! Some will get them and some won't.. Everybody is different hun.

Neither 😩 both are awful! I had 4th degree tears and then also had to get the episiotomy so I have both and the recovery process is miserable 😭
